People often look at me and think I have it altogether. Although I share many of my testimonies, this still happens. It’s sometimes hard to move forward in ministry because of this perception that people make about me, not realizing that although I’ve made a commitment to God, there are still areas I struggle with such as confidence.
I am not always confident in the things that God has called me to do. Guess what?! I just keep trusting the Master to teach me more and more about what he’s called me to do.
Are there times that I fail? Yes! Like big time, but I get up, dust myself off and keep moving forward. Why? God is greater than my failures.
I am not perfect, so far from it!
Often people look at me and think oh she’s flawless. LIES! I’m flawed ya’ll. I am not perfect, so far from it! I get frustrated in certain situations in my life. There are some things I know I need to do, but I don’t do them.
I swear I sound like the apostle Paul.
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. Romans 7:15
Walking in my calling is a fresh experience every day. It feels unnatural because of the flesh that I live in but I put my trust in Jesus and he anchors and develops me to be better.
It’s my God-confidence that I have that keeps me moving forward in purpose. As I learn how to be confident in God, I find the balance to be confident within myself. BUT never turning away from God as I find the balance between the two.
Look I never want to be so confident in myself, that I feel I don’t need God anymore. Could it be why the thorn remains in our flesh as we travel this life journey? I think so.
Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 2 Cor. 12:7
Don't idolize those around you because trust me when I tell you they have unrevealed flaws just like you.
Sis, as you pursue God and the purpose he has for you be confident in him. Don't idolize those around you because trust me when I tell you they have unrevealed flaws just like you.
They haven’t mastered it all and they too are trusting God in the process of purpose. I encourage you to do the same.
It’s okay to not have it all figured out by yourself. Or to not be the expert in your field. All God wants us to do is start where we are and let him lead and teach us the right way to go.
I don’t want to gloss over my flaws. And I don’t want you to do that either. Confess them to God and even a trusted source and continue to let God deal with you in that area and heal you.
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16
Let nothing, not even people, cost you your sense of God-confidence. He’s our ever present help. He will not leave us nor forsake us on this journey. And don’t you dare leave him.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
Don't forget to join us June 5th. We are still learning how to level up our prayer life. If that's you, I want you to join us!
