Stop Building Your Empire and Build God's Kingdom

Hey, Majestic Daughter! What’s happening?

Let me tell you about my week so far…

I’m learning that God wants to help us as His daughters make every decision in our lives. We tend to leave Him out of the planning stages of the business, the ministry, our families, our friendships–just the overall big and small stuff.

Just this week I had a vision from God while I was asleep. I saw the hand of the Lord guiding me to my website homepage and He began to instruct me to change the wording of one of my slogans.

After I woke up, I remembered the vision and waited awhile, but the Holy Spirit kept reminding me to update the website before day’s end. I needed those reminders because I procrastinate which often leads to disobedience of what God is telling me to do.

So, I sat down mid afternoon and grabbed my laptop to make the edits. I read the slogan out loud “Building Her Empire” and I thought to myself, what’s wrong with that? It’s an inspirational quote attached to women’s empowerment, but the Holy Spirit convicted me and gave me a new slogan “Building God’s Kingdom.”

As I looked up scriptures on Kingdom Building, there was not one that stated empire and not one that states that we should build our own empire. We are not to advance our own name and empire-building goals.

The word says,

Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

This scripture instructs us as ambassadors for Christ on how to Build God’s Kingdom and I believe that as we do God's business, He will give us the desires of our hearts according to His will for our lives.

As I did so more research, I came across this statement, “While you are busy creating your empire, what are you doing for His kingdom?” I felt a gut punch of those words hit my spirit meaning I felt immediate conviction.

As much as this resonated with me, I still wrestled with changing it. I mean did this along with my theme. Did it? Not! So, guess what I did… I changed it to “Building God’s Kingdom” but then I change it to “Building Her Confidence.” You’re thinking why did you not just do what God told you to do? The only response I can give is I was just be rebellious, but my relationship with Jesus will not allow me to get away with being defiant. The Holy Spirit was convicting me to change it.

I go to the website to make the edits and to my surprise it was already reflecting “Building God’s Kingdom” and I laughed to myself because I had doubted what God and despite my rebellious self He still covered me and kept it just as He had instructed.

I invite you into on my failures, so you know that I have moments I don’t always get it right, I aim to be holy for God is. (1 Peter 1:16)

I have learned a valuable lesson from this experience, and I am determined to invite God into the decision-making process. I encourage you to let God guide you in your decisions so you can make the right ones the first time around. This will keep you from failure, stress, devastation and cultivate the atmosphere of success, peace, and joy. Always seek God’s insight so you can make the right decision everywhere with God's help.
