Have you ever wondered how Michael Jordan became more popular in basketball than in baseball? I can definitely say I have often wondered the same thing. The reality of it all is that we each have an infinite gift placed on the inside of us at birth. We travel along in our life path gaining the skills and wisdom we need to allow our purpose come to pass. The first step to approaching your life path is to first acknowledge you have a reason for being. You were created in God's image.
Jeremiah 29:11 states, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not evil, to give you a future and hope.”
This verse is your gold ticket to your freedom. I remember when I would apply for certain types of jobs and I knew God said no. The jobs didn't work out in my favor. Either my application would get denied or my computer would freeze. I couldn't understand why God would let me down.
The key factor is, I knew before applying that his purpose for me was bigger than I was settling for. Now don't get me wrong. I understand sometimes you have to do what you have to do, but when God says NO, he means NO!
I had to learn to trust him with my life completely. I had to let go of what I thought I needed and prepare for whatever God was doing. I'll be the first to admit that I have gotten mad at God about something before even checking in with him.
Seeking him first gives us clarity on our next steps. Our steps are ordered according to his plans over our life. Someone once asked me.
“Why can't I hear his voice? How do I know when he is talking to me?”
Jesus said, “My sheep know my voice.” (John 10:27) When life happens and we lose sight and clarity on our vision, we tend to start feeling like God isn't listening or he doesn't care about what is going on. I believe sometimes God will use our circumstances to speak to us.
Whether you've lost a job, ended up in an abusive relationship, got hooked on drugs, and etc. God will allow us to go through to get through. He knows what we need before we even need it. We have to trust that in our valley experiences we don't lose sight of him.
He wants the best for us, but we have to believe that we are deserving of it. I'm a firm believer of if your goals don't challenge you then they aren't big enough. That's right! When you start to trust the journey of being a better you, your life will change for the better. Your old ways and attitude will no longer be accommodated in your new level. You won't care to be around anything or anyone who don't benefit your wellbeing. I know all of this sounds overwhelming right, but I promise you it gets easier and easier.
Creating a vision board is a helpful tool used to help clarify, organize, and maintain focus on your life goals. Vision boards are more than just cutting out pictures and gluing them. It tells the universe that you are ready to receive good things into your life. It shows that you are now ready to take control over your life. It means that you are willing to release everything that is needed to push you closer to your vision.
The time is now. Are you ready?
