Inconvenience Doesn’t Last a Lifetime: A Reminder for Women in Ministry

Text on a light pink background reads: Grow in the Word. Inconvenience Doesn’t Last a Lifetime: A Reminder for Women in Ministry. Motivational tone.

A sudden change happened at work that I wasn’t mentally prepared for. You may think, “Girl, that’s small,” but for me, it was huge. I like to know things in advance. I need to plan, I need to adjust, and I need to mentally prepare for changes.

Here it was that I had to be on phones all day at work instead of just being on phones for about 5 hours a day. It makes a difference because I am not just answering calls, but also responding to a high volume of emails all at the same time.

This was supposed to be a full week schedule change, but on the 4th day it changed back to normal. I immediately thought, inconvenience doesn’t last a lifetime.

I had to put things into perspective. No matter how frustrating it was, it was not a lifetime. No matter the inner conflict I felt, it didn’t last forever. The sudden change of plans was not permanent, but only temporary. It was a temporary bump in the road that was eventually going to smooth out again.

2 Corinthians 4:17 “For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long.” NLT

This was a small annoyance. It wasn’t a tragedy. It was just an inconvenience, and I

needed to label it correctly. In a few days, I probably won’t even remember this happened or maybe I will. Either way, it was not worth the emotional energy I gave it when I initially found out.

I needed to remember that this too shall pass.

I wanted to encourage God’s daughters, women in ministry, that trouble doesn’t last always.

What you may be encountering right now, although difficult, is still not greater than the glory of God. Don’t lose hope. Don’t give up your faith for what you see right now, because remember, what you see is only temporary.

The trouble you face right now will come to an end.

Don’t lose heart by focusing only on the issue at hand. What you don’t see is far greater than what you do see.

Focus on Christ.

Focus on what is to come.

Focus on His eternal glory.

Focus on your eternal home in heaven.

Focus on the Word of God that nourishes your soul in times of trouble.

Focus on the good.

And watch the light affliction you are currently experiencing move on by swiftly.

May this bless your soul.

If this has blessed or encouraged you today, please share this with another woman in ministry.
