Breaking the Pressure to Perform

I was totally exhausted, headed into 2022. I was running on fumes because I hadn't taken a break to just rest and reset. The more clarity I was getting about my life. The more pressure I find myself under.

In this short-lived season, I was not thriving. Something was affecting my momentum, and I did not know how to change it. Until, one of the task I love to do came to a halt.

I knew this was God's ways of escape for me. It was time for me to stop showing up and just dwell in that secret place with the Most High God.

The hustle and bustle of life was over.

And I had to decide not to pick up another assignment to replace the one that had paused.

I no longer needed to push myself to the point of exhaustion. I just needed to breathe in God's presence. I was missing the most important part of my journey and that was resting. When I don't rest, I get frustrated with myself and even others. It's my fault because I just needed to cut out what I was doing.

Sounds allot like Martha in the Bible. She became frustrated with Mary's posture, but all the while, she was the issue. (Luke 10:40-42)

Maybe you're in this season. And you don't know what to do.

What do you do? Keep going. And exhaust yourself more.

Real talk: I believe the proper solution is surrendering to the will of God - resting your weary soul.

In Matthew 11:28-30, the Lord Jesus sounded a call with these words:

Come to Me all who toil and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

You're exhausted because you've been bearing burdens., right?

It's not that you tried to get to this point - it's just situations called for your attention.

The only way you are going to break the pressure to perform and find rest is by stepping away from the hustle of your tasks + find time to spend with Jesus.

The one who graciously invites us in so He can help us and give us direction. There is so much freedom and relief in His presence. Allowing the Holy Spirit to come in and strengthen you is beyond words.

Sis, get off the hamster wheel of life and catch your breath. It's time for a refreshing of the Holy Spirit.

Little did I know,

God was preparing me for my next. Had I not rested, I could not be show up in this season of the amazing doors that have been flying open in 2022.

This year doesn't have to continue like it started. You can yield different results if you respond to the call of Jesus TODAY.

Abba, Father, I need you right now in the name of Jesus to break the pressure to perform off my life. I am coming to you as humble as I know how, laying down every heavy burden at your feet. And asking for your yoke. Jesus, teach me how to serve with balance. Give me rest. I just want you! Thank you for giving me you, amen!

Sis, I am so proud of you and I'll be even more proud if I know you'll be intentional in resting in God.
