Be Fearless

When I am afraid, I will put my trust and faith in you. Psalm 56:3 AMP

Faith is believing that God will work it out without seeing how it turns out.

I chose the amplified version because it adds faith and trust -you can’t have one without the other. Trust being the firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, and strength of who and what God is. Faith is believing that God will work it out without seeing how it turns out.

Hebrews 11:1 tells us “ Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

As I continue to grow in Christ, I have to make a conscious decision to trust God only.

You may have read that and said, easier said than done. There is a process in learning how to trust God and it has its challenges. Why? Because were human and like to have a sense of control. I can speak for myself and admit, most of my life I have been a slave to fear. Fear of failure, rejection, and not measuring up to others expectations of me. But the more I exercise my faith, it has become easier to trust Him. I hope the same for you.

Fear is our first response to new job opportunities, starting a business, a ministry, leaving a job, walking in our purpose, etc. It’s our flesh that puts up a fight-or-flight response, and we flight and choose fear. But we have to cast out fear, and destroy every negative thought that our mind feeds us and teach them to obey Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

In every situation we have a choice - Faith or fear? Although we are accustomed to accepting fear doesn’t mean we have to yield to fear.

2 Timothy 1:7 For, God has not given us a spirit of fear. 2 Timothy 1:7

By daily reading, studying, and applying the word of God to our lives, we learn to effectively defend ourselves from the enemy and his mind games. I’m not saying fear won’t creep back in, but we learn to fight for our faith with the word of God.

Here are a few scriptures when you are fearful:

Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

I want to encourage you, to say yes to that business, starting a blog, building a youth ministry, a bible study group, that new job... whatever it is God has placed on your heart.

Be fearless!

Being fearless isn’t the absence of fear, it’s saying Yes! It’s trusting and having faith that God will sustain you as you continue to walk by faith.
